Real Betis missed the chance to extend their lead at the top of Spain’s La Liga after meekly succumbing 1-0 to Getafe.
Betis, who had maintained a 100 percent record after winning their first four games, had the chance to equal their best ever start to a season.
But Diego Castro’s first half goal was enough to secure Getafe’s first win of the campaign.
Betis remain top of the league, leading Barcelona, Seville and Levante by a point.
Meanwhile in the English Premier League newly promoted Norwich City continued their steady start to the season by beating big-spending Sunderland 2-1 at Carrow Road.
Sunderland coach Steve Bruce had spent big in the summer – notably on players like former Manchester United star Wes Brown and Arsenal’s Nicklas Bendtner – but they were second best for most of the match as Leon Barnett and Steve Morison gave Norwich a 2-0 lead.
Kieran Richardson, another former Manchester United product, gave Sunderland hope late on but Norwich held on to move into ninth in the Premier League table.
