The king of street-style photography Yvan Rodic has been capturing the most striking and fashionable people on the pavements of cities across the world since starting his blog FaceHunter in 2006. He has collaborated with high-end fashion magazines, held exhibitions, and has even written a book documenting his globe-trotting pursuit of style. Yvan, who is constantly scouting for new, yet undiscovered trends, has collaborated with CNN to showcase a selection of his images of the beautiful people at Paris Fashion Week.
Yvan Rodic: "I always look for originality, I don't like repetition. Too often people are trying to copy a trend, but for me, when something becomes a trend it's already too late.
"I like the sixties vibe of the look in this photo. This girl is a magazine editor, and it's as if she came straight from the pages of old Vogue."

Yvan Rodic: "I try to keep it as natural as possible when taking photos, as I don't want things to look too posed. Sometimes I see people looking great without knowing it and I want to capture it, like this girl who wasn't aware that I was photographing her. She just looked perfect, and of course I asked for her permission afterward."

Yvan Rodic: "Sometimes I feel I need to capture someone's eyes closely. For me, it's more about style than fashion, and I am trying to convey people's personalities."

Yvan Rodic: "I was drawn to this girl by her attitude. She has a great androgynous look, and her gaze was lowered so it gave the photo a very mysterious poetic atmosphere."

Yvan Rodic: "There is femininity with an edge here, and an air of a femme fatale. This girl is fierce, and her confidence shines through her image and style."

Yvan Rodic: "This is a brave outfit, but the guy seemed quite introverted. Most people are happy to be photographed and feel flattered when I approach them, but they often say they don't look good and need a bit of encouragement - the most stylish people are always the most coy."

Yvan Rodic: "I love the adventurous mix of colors here. It's bold and many people wouldn't get away with it, but she pulls it off and it fits perfectly within her aesthetic."

Yvan Rodic: "I was fascinated by this girl's face. She has quite a conceptual look but makes it look easy and natural. She is wearing striking pieces, but in a way that doesn't look eccentric."

Yvan Rodic: "This is probably my favorite photo -- I like the expressiveness of the face, it shows humanity. She is a model who had been walking in a lot of shows, so she felt the need to release all that tension and relax by doing something quirky and unexpected."

Yvan Rodic: "I like the contrast of the old and the new. The girl is dressed very fashionably, but sitting at a traditional Parisian pavement cafe."

Yvan Rodic: "There was a crowd of photographers in front of the Dries Van Noten show, and this young model from New Zealand who was just passing by asked me what was going on. She looked great, but was not intentionally dressed-up for a fashion event, and I liked that."

Yvan Rodic: "When I scout for interesting characters I mainly focus on more progressive fashion, but it's always good to capture classic elegance, like the look here."

Yvan Rodic: "This model was rushing between shows and probably had about two minutes to get ready, but I think she looks great. I like the print on her top, but mostly that she was relaxed and wasn't trying hard. Her energy was great too, she was smiling and she was very friendly."

Yvan Rodic: "This girl was really stunning, but no one was photographing her because she wasn't going to a fashion show. Sometimes people get too obsessed with famous faces, and I think that can get boring. I captured her because she was beautiful, and was wearing a really interesting ensemble."

Yvan Rodic: "There is something quite grown-up about this look. When people go to shows, you know it's going to be an exaggerated version of their style, but this girl manages to be eccentric and classic at the same time."

Yvan Rodic: "When I look for people to photograph I don't make a distinction between men and women, I just search for originality. For example I like what this guy did with his scarves, not many people would have thought of it, it's creative. That's what I always look for, a fresh, authentic style."
