Dare to dream? —
Liverpool is one of the most successful clubs in English football history, but it has failed to win a league title for 24 years. Hwover the goals of Uruguayan Luis Suarez (left) and England striker Daniel Sturridge (right) have propelled Liverpool up to second in the Premier League table ahead of Sunday's match against Manchester United.

24 years of hurt —
Liverpool's last league triumph came at the end of the 1989-90 season. The club's championship success 24 years ago was its 11th in 17 years and a then record 18th English title for the Anfield team. Since then, however, Liverpool has been usurped as the dominant force in English football by Manchester United.

Moyes' misery —
United is enduring an arduous campaign as manager David Moyes struggles to fill the void left by Alex Ferguson, who departed at the end of the 2012-13 season. Ferguson spent 26 years at Old Trafford, winning 13 Premier League titles to see United move above Liverpool with a total of 20 English titles. Moyes' team has floundered this term and it sits seventh in the table.

Fall from grace —
United's current predicament is a far cry from last May, when the club won its 20th English title under the guidance of the departing Ferguson.

Hazard warning —
Chelsea is this season's pacesetters. Jose Mourinho's team is seven points clear of Liverpool at the top of the table, with Belgium's Eden Hazard a major factor behind Chelsea's impressive form.
