Dutch statistics company Infostrada currently forecasts defeat for Jamaican sprint legend Usain Bolt in the men's 100m at the Rio Olympics in 2016.
Gold for Gatlin —
Here's the man who stands to benefit from Bolt's demise -- Infostrada says that while Bolt has not competed frequently enough to register strongly using its "virtual medal table" formula, American Justin Gatlin has competed at "tons of events" and is installed in gold-medal position.
Big year for Biles —
Teenage world champion gymnast Simone Biles is another American forecast to reach the podium, picking up 'multiple medals' in artistic gymnastics.
Comeback helps Phelps —
There's good news for Michael Phelps, too. Assuming he gets into the team for Rio 2016, Infostrada reckons the 18-time Olympic champion will add several more medals to his tally.
Bleak times for Britain... —
Great Britain are among the biggest losers in Infostrada's Rio forecast. Double London 2012 champion Laura Trott is forecast to miss out on an individual gold medal in Rio as the team's medal count plunges.
... but Farah's fine —
Distance runner Mo Farah is, however, predicted to retain his Olympic titles over 5,000m and 10,000m. Team GB is forecast to finish seventh with 45 medals, well below its target of 66.
Rory riddle —
Things could be even worse than they seem for Great Britain: Infostrada predicts gold for Rory McIlroy and GB on golf's Olympic debut. One problem -- McIlroy, a Northern Irishman, is expected to play for Ireland and not GB.
High hopes for the hosts —
Brazil can more than double its best-ever previous Olympic performance, according to Infostrada, which awards gold to Brazilian open-water swimmer Ana Marcela Cunha.
Volleyball victory —
The hosts will also be delighted to learn they are set to win gold in both men's indoor and beach volleyball contests. Volleyball is one of the most popular Olympic sports in Brazil.
Aussies on top —
Lastly, Australia may be buoyed by the news that its team is set to climb above arch-rivals Britain in the medal table, finishing sixth with an overall tally of 42 medals.
