Will anyone rain on Mercedes' parade in 2015?

Mercedes teammates Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg led the pack at the season-opening Australian Grand Prix, finishing more than 30 seconds in front of the next car, Sebastian Vettel's Ferrari.

"We need someone to challenge Mercedes," says three-time world champion Jackie Stewart, seen here grilling the team's motorsport director Toto Wolff in Melbourne.

Who can challenge Mercedes' mighty engine? Red Bull -- which won three races in 2014 -- started off the pace. There were headaches in Australia as Danill Kvyat failed to start the race because of technical problems.

"The Renault engine was very successful but for some reason they've lost the plot," says Stewart. The French company, which supplies Red Bull and Toro Rosso, had worked hard over the winter to try and catch up with Mercedes.

"We need to give Honda a wee bit of time," says Stewart. The Japanese engine manufacturer rejoined F1 in 2015 to partner McLaren.

"Ferrari are developing well ," explains the 75-year-old . "I would like to see a more competitive season coming up than we had in Australia."

Having the best car on the grid is fun for the Mercedes drivers, who give Stewart a hosing down on the podium after their one-two in Australia.
