The concept vessel is designed primarily as a yacht but the detachable top deck can quickly be transformed into a helicopter or jet plane.

Klyukin's idea is that a jet plane can cover long-distance flights to and from the yacht while a helicopter could be used for shorter air journeys.

"It's difficult to cross the Atlantic or to fly to Hong Kong by helicopter," Klyukin said.

The top deck of the vessel would take off and land much like the famous Harrier Jump Jet originally used by the British military.

The Monaco 2050 would still have room for traditional superyacht facilities such as an on-board swimming pool.

Klyukin has designed a number of high-concept yachts, although none have yet been built.

Although there are no plans to build or further investigate the feasibility of the Monaco 2050, Klyukin hopes to inspire other yacht designers and manufacturers to consider the possibilities of such a vessel.
