Chris Robshaw is preparing to lead host nation England at the Rugby World Cup, which kicks off on September 18.

Robshaw has led England since the 2012 Six Nations Championship and nearly led them to glory in this year's tournament.

But on a dramatic and record-breaking final day of action, England lost out on the title to Ireland on points difference.

Away from the game, Robshaw has become a savvy businessman and boasts sponsorship deals with the likes of BMW as well as his own coffee and wine company.

He also finds himself rubbing shoulders with celebrities off the field both because of his England role and his relationship with Camilla Kerslake, an opera singer.

Kerslake was the first artist signed up to Take That front man Gary Barlow's record label.

But the couple have no plans to release a duet, Robshaw insisting his own singing is woeful and is reserved solely for the national anthem on match days.

Robshaw has been a one-club man, signed by Harlequins after leaving school and staying true to the club that stood by him amid injury problems.

He had to endure a lengthy wait for an England call-up and missed out on the World Cup squad for the last tournament in 2011.

But his stature as captain has risen. Where once he was questioned by critics, this year he has come of age as skipper.

There have been no shortage of celebrations in big games for Robshaw but the big question is whether England will celebrate World Cup success?

Robshaw is adamant England can defy the big names on home soil and win the tournament for only the second time in their history.
