Can anyone stop Serena Williams at Wimbledon? Maria Sharapova tried but was again unsuccessful.

Sharapova hadn't beaten Williams since 2004. And the drought continues following her 6-2 6-4 defeat on Center Court.

Sharapova made the worst possible start, dropping serve in the first game from 30-0. It was soon 4-1 and there was no coming back.

It's 17 straight victories for Williams over Sharapova. Sharapova's victory over Williams in the 2004 final remains the only time, too, she has defeated Williams at the All England Club.

Williams is now one win away from completing the "Serena Slam" for the second time. It would be her 21st major overall.

Standing in her way will be first-time grand slam finalist Garbine Muguruza of Spain. The 21-year-old beat 2012 finalist Agnieszka Radwanska 6-2 3-6 6-3.

Radwanska trailed 3-1 in the second before rallying. And she actually led by a break in the third, 1-0. But the Pole couldn't keep up the momentum.

After hitting a winner on match point, Muguruza crumpled to the famous grass. She's the first Spanish woman to play in a grand slam final in 15 years.

Only one other Spanish woman has ever won Wimbledon, Conchita Martinez in 1994. Martinez is Muguruza's Fed Cup captain.

For the second straight day, David Beckham was at the All England Club.
