He also set up the Dempsey Challenge -- a bike ride with distances of 10, 25, 50, 70 and 100 miles, as well as 5 and 10 kilometer running races -- to raise funds for The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing at the Central Maine Medical Center.
