It was the first time the New York Jets had participated in an International Series, however their opponents should be getting used to Wembley as it was the third occasion the Dolphins had traveled to London to play.

There are two more matches planned for Wembley this year. The Buffalo Bills take on the Jacksonville Jaguars on October 23, while the Detroit Lions host the Kansas City Chiefs on November 1.

North London club Tottenham Hotspur recently announced a 10-year partnership with the NFL ahead of its proposed move to a new stadium due to open in 2018.
The deal includes at least two games per season to be played at the venue, aided by a retractable grass field with an artificial surface underneath that would be used for NFL games.
