Footballer Demy de Zeeuw turns on notifications from his 8 million Instagram followers

The ex-Holland international player posts 40-second Facebook video of responses

CNN  —

If you’ve ever tried to get a response from your favorite sports star on social media and never heard back, this is probably why.

In a video posted to his Facebook account, footballer Demy de Zeeuw – who has played for the Dutch national team 27 times – shows what happens when you have 8 million followers on Instagram and you turn on your notifications.

De Zeeuw runs the popular Instagram account 433, although he has been without a football club since leaving Dutch First Division side NAC Breda in 2015.

The midfielder played for his country in the 2010 World Cup semifinal, where he is better remembered for receiving a boot to the mouth from Uruguay defender Martin Caceres.
