The Lista Light -- a 50-foot long, 35-ton converted former cod fishing boat built in Norway in 1935. In 2008, it was bought by married couple Katharine and David Lowrie, who have since sailed it around the world.

David's family had a sailing background but Katherine was a novice. "I completely trusted him," Katharine explained. "I had never sailed -- a couple of dinghy episodes before we set off. I would learn on the go."

Both quit steady careers to explore the world. In 2008, they took to the seas in The Lista Light. But they also ran 6,500 miles through Latin America in 2012, while pulling a 100-kilogram trailer, to raise awareness of environment and nature conservation.

Shortly after their run, the couple returned to the UK where Katharine gave birth to their sun Theo.

Theo lived aboard The Lista Light from the age of three months to almost a year. He's pictured playing on deck, with Rio de Janeiro in the background. "We let him walk and crawl around on deck when it was calm, but one of us was always close," said Katharine. "His balance was amazing -- he could stand up holding on to the swaying fencing."

Theo's reusable nappies drying aboard the boat. "They dried very quickly in hot climates," said Katharine. "Conventional nappies don't really work as most boats don't have enough space to store them and also they stink!"

Although The Lista Light was sold to another family, the family plan to go sailing again once their children -- with a second child now added to the crew -- are around eight to 10 years old.
