If you've ever wanted to sail the world but have been too worried to do it alone, the World ARC might be the solution. It's a 15-month long cruising rally for sailing yachts that allows families to enjoy adventures with the added safety of companions and support from a dedicated team.

The World ARC, organized by the World Cruising Club, was born out of the first-ever ocean crossing rally held in 1986. It follows classic tradewind routes, which avoids storm seasons in both hemispheres and bypass regions prone to piracy or political instability.

"We have enough memories to last us a lifetime," said Helen Tibbs, who took part in the round-the-world rally in 2017 with her husband Chris. This picture of a jumping whale was taken on board their yacht in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
