The Washington Nationals put the final touches on a wild World Series with a 6-2 victory in Houston on Wednesday.

The Nationals, who came into the series as heavy underdogs, won the first two games in Houston. The Astros responded by winning the next three games in Washington, but the Nationals would not be denied.
In Game 7, Howie Kendrick hit a two-run home run in the seventh inning to give the Nationals a lead they would never relinquish.
Nationals pitcher Stephen Strasburg was named World Series MVP. He won both of his starts, in Games 2 and 6.
