Jason Cother is deputy editor, SMB, for CNN Underscored Money. He has 20-plus years of experience providing businesspeople with the information they need to make smart decisions.

He previously served as managing editor, retail and HR, at Fit Small Business, where he researched, wrote and edited content for entrepreneurs and small-business owners. Before that, he held various positions with business data and analytics company Dun & Bradstreet.

Cother earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Mississippi State University. Based in Austin, Texas, he enjoys hiking, concerts and hanging out with his pups in his free time.
