A MacBook Air with M3 (15-inch, Midnight blue) is open on a table, surrounded by a blue wallet, a coffee, a cookie and books.

The MacBook Air M3 quickly became our new pick for best laptop when it hit shelves earlier in the year, and now you can score the best price yet at Amazon.

The MacBook Air M3 is our pick for the best laptop and MacBook for most people, and it’s currently $200 off — its all-time low price.

Apple’s latest flagship notebook is currently $249 off right now to join the Best Buy back-to-school sale, matching the all-time low price. It’s still one of the first handful of price cuts since launching at the beginning of spring too. You can score the starting configuration with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for $899.

Best Buy’s listing is also carrying over to the larger 15-inch MacBook Air M3. This is one of our favorite MacBooks, and we doubt this discount will last too much longer. This is the lowest price yet for the 15-inch version, as well.

The MacBook Air M3 is a subtle but noteworthy upgrade to what’s long been our best MacBook pick, retaining the same excellent design, sharp 1080p webcam, loud speakers and handy MagSafe charger that debuted with the M2 model, while simply packing more power inside. The M3-powered notebook blazed past most competitors (and showed some impressive gains over its predecessor) on our benchmark tests, and it even proved powerful enough to handle top Mac games at moderate settings.

Faster speeds aside, the latest MacBook Air finally introduces support for two external monitors, making it a good Pro alternative for serious productivity. It also addresses one of our biggest criticisms of last generation’s model, taking the infamously smudge-prone Midnight model and making it more fingerprint-resistant, thanks to a new anodized construction.

This is one of the better electronics deals we’ve seen so far this year, especially since it effectively brings the MacBook Air M3 down to the same starting price as the older M2 model. Those with a MacBook Air M1 or newer don’t necessarily need to run out and upgrade, but for everyone else in the market for a new MacBook, this discounted M3 model is a no-brainer. We don’t expect this sale price to last long, so we’d recommend acting fast if you’re interested before the fall semester starts.
