It’s no secret that the PS5 DualSense controller’s battery life isn’t great, something that’s become extra irksome now that I’m playing an irresponsible amount of Mortal Kombat 1. I’ve been getting hit with low battery warnings nearly every night that I game, creating a not-so-ideal situation where my controller is regularly connected to a USB-C cable while I play. So when I saw a huge Prime Big Deal Days discount on Razer’s popular DualSense charging stand, I couldn’t click “buy” soon enough.

This accessory promises to fully charge your PS5 DualSense controller in less than three hours, with a range of stylish color options designed to match every version of Sony's gamepad.

The Razer Quick Charging Stand for PlayStation 5 is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a compact little stand that promises to juice up your PS5 controller in less than three hours, and it comes in a range of slick colors that match the current lineup of DualSense gamepads. Once you hook it up to your PS5 or a compatible power brick and plop your controller on it, you’re good to go.

Now, this charger won’t improve the DualSense’s abysmal battery life, but it’ll ensure that my gamepad is at least fully juiced up every time I grab it. I have a hard time remembering to plug stuff in when I’m done using it, but I don’t think I’ll have the same issue with a stand that I can easily just plop my DualSense onto when I’m done exchanging bloody blows. I can also use this stand to recharge my second controller while using my first, meaning I’ll always have a fresh one ready to go. It’s doesn’t hurt that Razer’s charger just looks good, and should match both my PS5 and entertainment center nicely.

Razer’s model is far from the only DualSense charging stand out there — and heck, it’s not even the best value — but there are a few reasons why I went with it over the competition.

Sony’s own DualSense Charging Station juices up two controllers at once instead of just one, but at $30, it’s nearly twice as much as Razer’s discounted charger. There’s also NexiGo’s popular charger that also charges two controllers and comes with a set of swappable thumbsticks for customizing your DualSense, all for the same $17 sale price as the Razer. But while I’ve never really used a NexiGo product, I’ve tested dozens of Razer gadgets — several of which have ended up on our best lists — and I simply trust the brand more. I also live alone and don’t have multiplayer sessions all that often, so being able to charge two controllers at once isn’t that big of a deal to me.

Keep in mind that the sale price for this thing varies — as of this writing, the red model is the cheapest, the black and white are $18, the blue and pink are $19 and the purple is $25. You’ve only got until the rest of the day to score what’s been one of the best PS5 Prime Day deals, and I wouldn’t be shocked if it sells out beforehand. I’m pumped to get this thing in, even if it means I have one less excuse as to why I keep losing in Kombat League.
