Nomad is one of our favorite accessory makers for all things Apple gadgets, whether it be snazzy cases for your iPhone, fresh bands for your Apple Watch or charging stations for all of your devices. The company’s latest release falls in the latter category, and it has quite the collection of features.

Called the “65W AC Power Adapter Apple Watch Edition” (the name could use some work, I know), the charger is one of the most innovative you’ll find on the market. Why’s that? There’s an entire Apple Watch charger built into the top of it.

Pricing and availability

Nomad's new 65W power adapter offers speedy charging for up to two USB-C devices at once —?all while doubling as a convenient Apple Watch charger.

Nomad is launching the 65W AC Power Adapter Apple Watch Edition today on its website. It’s only available in one color (classic Nomad gray, for anyone wondering), and it’s priced at $100. Nomad doesn’t seem to be making this a limited edition, so you should be able to pick it up whenever you need it.

The first power adapter with an Apple Watch charger … ever

This power adapter is certainly on the larger side. Pick it up and you’ll notice it’s also pretty heavy. That’s thanks to the special engineering and design work Nomad had to pull off to cram in all the features it wanted to include.

The most notable feature? An Apple Watch charger built into the top of it. Nomad has shipped plenty of Apple Watch chargers in the past with devices like the Stand One Max and Base One Max, but never directly into the charging adapter itself. In fact, according to Nomad, this is the first time someone has pulled off a charger built into the top of a power adapter, which is pretty cool.

It’s a fast Apple Watch charger, too. It charges at the same rate as Apple’s own chargers for the watch, so you can enjoy a fast charge on your Apple Watch Series 7 or later. It’s by far the most convenient Apple Watch charger I’ve ever used, and it means I don’t have to worry about packing an extra cable when I travel. I can just bring this adapter, my chargers for my iPhone and iPad, and I’m good.

As an added bonus, even if you don’t own an Apple Watch, you can pick up this charger for your AirPods since they’re compatible with Apple Watch chargers.

Dual ports and plenty of power for all of your devices

Below the Apple Watch charger are two USB-C ports for charging your other devices. Nomad uses GaN technology to deliver 65W charging speeds, which is good enough for charging most modern laptops. It’ll work with either port, too, so long as you don’t use both ports simultaneously.

If you use both ports, performance from the top port will drop to 45W while the bottom will drop to 20W. Those specs mean enough power to recharge your iPhone, iPad or other devices you have in your arsenal. It’ll take longer to recharge your laptop, of course, but it’s decent performance nonetheless.

Overall, Nomad’s new power adapter makes for one great travel companion. I packed the adapter for a quick trip up to State College to visit my sister with my family, and I loved being able to plug it into the hotel’s outlets and instantly dock my Apple Watch to recharge it. Obviously, it’s $100, which is a high asking price for a simple power adapter. But if you want the added convenience of not having to worry about lugging around your Apple Watch charger, this is a great option.
