My inbox can get overrun with boring pitches on products that don’t do anything special. But just the other day, that streak was broken by Nomad, which sent me an email with the subject line “Our Wildest Product Yet.” I already know the company makes killer Apple Watch bands, charging stations, iPhone cases and more, so I was curious to see what it meant by “wild.”
Their definition? A new $60 Apple Watch band that glows in the dark.
Nomad's popular Sport Band now comes in a slick glow-in-the dark variation that's perfect for late-night runs (or just showing off at parties).
Nomad gives the Apple Watch a literal glow-up
Nomad, one of the best accessory makers for the world of Apple gadgets, has announced a new color for its popular Sport Band: Glow. At first, you’d think this was just a standard white band for your Apple Watch, complete with a breathable, waterproof design. But turn the lights way down or step out into the night, and your wrist will light up.
That’s right — this Apple Watch band can glow in the dark. It looks like a classic snapping light stick with a neon green colorway, and when the lights come back up, it reverts to its original off-white aesthetic.
It’s a very unusual look, but I dig it. It’s a fun band to wear at a party or a bar when you need a good conversation starter. I also agree with Nomad’s assessment of it being its wildest product yet — there are plenty of bands that claim to glow in the dark, but I’m not sure any are as bright or vivid as the Sport Band.

Beyond that, it’s the same old Sport Band we’ve come to know and love, with FKM silicon and a satin-like finish. The aluminum closure pin remains as durable as ever, and it’s by far my favorite band to wear every day with my Apple Watch.
The new color is just one of many that Nomad has shipped this year. It just dropped a new Blaze Sport Band that blends orange and yellow hues perfect for summer, while other finishes like High Volta and Atlantic Blue have also been released to much fanfare. Clearly, Nomad’s having way too much fun coming up with new color varieties.
Act fast — the Glow Sport Band is a limited edition
As is the case with many of Nomad’s new colors, the Glow Sport Band won’t be around forever. Nomad says it’s a limited edition, and there’s no guarantee it’ll ever see the light of day again once the initial supply sells out — which will likely happen fast, if previous drops are anything to go by.
If you want to get your hands on a Glow Sport Band, it’s available from Nomad’s website for $60 beginning today, Aug. 8. It comes in both 40mm/41mm and 45mm/49mm sizes to fit every Apple Watch.
