One of country music’s most celebrated artists?Miranda Lambert is currently lighting up the stage in Las Vegas as part of her?Velvet Rodeo residency. In the showstopping tour, which runs through April, the star dazzles in bejeweled cowboy boots and?tasseled leather jackets as she blazes through 22 fan-favorite hits from her albums.
When she’s not performing, the three-time Grammy-winning singer, songwriter and guitarist — the most-awarded in ACM Awards history — loves to escape to her farm outside Nashville, Tennessee. “There’s nothing you can’t work through when you’re in nature with a guitar and [a] glass of wine,” she says.
Known for her eclectic country style, in 2018, Lambert founded her own country-inspired clothing and accessory brand,?Idyllwind, on the belief that “clothes can empower you and make you feel confident to take on anything.” The country music sensation, who grew up in rural Texas, also loves to cook and last year released the bestselling cookbook “Y’all Eat Yet?” which is filled with recipes handed down from her mother, grandma and her close-knit circle of friends.
Ahead, the beloved star shares her everyday essentials on and off stage.
Performing in the dry air and heat of Las Vegas has prompted Lambert to up her skin care game. “Moisturizer and sunscreen are my ultimate makeup daily secret weapons. I love all of Laneige’s hydrating products, especially their sleeping masks for the face and?lips.” This gel-based mask is infused with super-hydrating squalane and a probiotic-derived complex. “I also help strengthen my skin’s barrier with?Eau Thermale Avène Cicalfate+ Restorative Protective Cream.”
Lambert shares that her most important beauty tip is to always use sunscreen. “Whether I’m outside during the day or under the UV lights onstage, I love EltaMD sunscreen, especially their tinted versions for makeup-free days.” Loved by dermatologists, the broad-spectrum SPF 40 is a lightweight, sheer-tinted moisturizing sunscreen that’s infused with hyaluronic acid and micronized zinc oxide.
“I love the camaraderie in the kitchen and around the table that comes with cooking,” says Lambert, whose first cookbook,?“Y’all Eat Yet?,” features country-inspired recipes from her childhood and stories of her life growing up in Longview, Texas. Inside, you’ll find Lambert cooking up omelettes to serve with mimosas and laying out the whiskey cupcakes next to her grandma’s banana pudding.?
“Onstage and [on] the red carpet, I love to play with fun makeup looks,” says the country star, who preps her skin with Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Hydrating Primer. Next, Lambert applies this silky illuminating foundation from Armani. “I love it because it gives a beautiful satin finish, and you can build it from light to full coverage if I’m on camera,” she says.
The self-confessed foodie is a fan of this iconic cookbook.?“My mom got a copy of the?1976 edition?as a wedding gift and used it all my life,” Lambert says. “Her friend tracked down a vintage copy and gifted it to me for my own wedding, which was a beautiful full-circle moment.” The 2022 version of this cookbook has more than 1,000 recipes and a section that compares classic recipes to updated ones.?
To ensure her lipstick goes the distance on and off the stage, Lambert swears by this cult fave from Stila. The creamy lipstick is formulated to stay put for 12 hours, while its hydrating Vitamin E and avocado oil formula keeps lips soft and hydrated. “It stays on so well during performances but also feels super lightweight,” she shares. Lambert finishes her look and gets creative and colorful with?Pat McGrath?eye shadow palettes. “She makes the most fun, high-impact, pigment-rich colors,” she says.?
As for?Lambert’s signature scent, she created her own. “I’ve created a few scents over the years. It’s a really fun process,” she says. Her current fave shares the name of her Las Vegas residency and is inspired by her song “Actin’ Up.” “It’s a really rich fragrance with notes of jasmine, violet iris and vanilla suede,” she says.
For her ultimate kitchen essential, Lambert nominates her KitchenAid mixer “because of its versatility.” Complete with a 4.5-quart stainless steel bowl and tilt-head design (so you can easily add ingredients), this mixer has 10 speeds to tackle any task, from mixing ingredients to whipping cream. “I also love cast-iron pans,” Lambert says. “My dad is the cast-iron king and has a whole chapter in the book about how to care for them.”?
