What we like
Window Nation offers several style and configuration options, including double- and triple-pane choices, various grid patterns, glass character options and varying sash sizes.
Window Nation uses products with lifetime limited warranties, the details of which depend on which company manufactured the specific product. Window Nation provides warranty information for every product before the customer selects.
What we don’t like
Over the past three years, Window Nation customers have filed over 500 complaints about the company with the BBB. Some potential customers couldn’t schedule an appointment for a window estimate online, forcing them to call the company to get on its calendar.
*BBB scores are accurate as of September 2024.
Window Nation’s pros and cons
While we would expect a wide selection of products from Window Nation, other aspects of the company stand out. One is Window Nation’s commitment to recycling and using recycled materials. Another is that the company can provide siding and interior door replacements, which is convenient for people who want to minimize the number of contractors on their remodeling projects.
However, after contacting the company online, I was discouraged to learn that you can only schedule an appointment for an estimate after talking to a salesperson first. This reality can be a turnoff for homeowners whose time is valuable and who want to schedule appointments online and at their convenience.
I was impressed by how quickly the company responded to my online inquiry. Within minutes of sending my request, I received a text and an email.
Pros
- Wide selection of window and manufacturer options
- Company supports sustainable practices through recycling efforts
- Also offers exterior siding and interior door replacement
Cons
- Estimate process is drawn out and more complicated than it could be
- Has showrooms in only 18 states
- Has a large number of recent complaints to the BBB
What services does Window Nation offer?
In addition to its vinyl window replacement products and services, Window Nation provides wooden window replacements, interior and exterior door installations and vinyl siding installations.
While the company offers a wide selection of brands and window products, it doesn’t offer a few other window types, including single-hung, hopper, awning, folding and corner windows. It does sell specialty-shaped windows.

Window Nation customization and add-ons
Window Nation offers many custom choices. To enhance the look of double-hung windows, you can choose from flat or contoured internal grids. The company also offers various glass etching and groove patterns and multiple sizes of upper and lower sashes.
For colors, Window Nation has three shades for interior vinyl windows, four wood window colors and at least 17 exterior colors that can match the aesthetic of many home styles and colors.
Customers can also choose from seven glass configurations:
- Extreme low-E
- Laminated glass
- Solarban 70XL, including a coating to block UV rays
- Super Spacer
- TripleSilver low-E glass
- Ultimate Triple Pane
- Ultra Triple Pane
Window add-ons include a Flexscreen option that allows easy screen removal and installation without damage, and Neat Glass that helps keep windows clean with a special coating.
What does Window Nation not cover?
Only a few window shapes and types are unavailable through Window Nation. For example, the company limits window material choices to vinyl and wood. Customers looking for fiberglass or proprietary materials will have to find another window company.
How much does Window Nation cost?
The average cost of window installation ranges between $280 and $730 per window. The price of replacement windows typically falls within that price range or is slightly higher. Though several online sources say Window Nation’s prices are roughly $300 and $1,200, there’s no hint about the accuracy of those costs.
I uncovered several customer price reports that reflected prices toward the high end of that range (specifically, at $772, $1,113 and $1,200 per window). However, a Window Nation salesperson I spoke to provided no prices. Instead, they wanted to set a date for a future estimate meeting.
Savings and discounts
Window Nation offers a 5% discount for seniors, active military, reserve service members and veterans. The company’s website offers more coupon savings.
Window Nation customer service and experience
Contacting Window Nation was a snap. A company representative answered my online inquiry in minutes and then answered several questions not related to pricing.
However, I recommend reading local Window Nation reviews and talking to neighbors if you know anyone who has bought Window Nation products. Gather as much information as possible about the branch near you before signing a contract.
Window Nation has low customer review scores on third-party platforms like Trustpilot. Though the company has a 2.8-star rating on Trustpilot, 70% of reviewers only gave the company 1 star. Complaints on Trustpilot included concerns about mismeasuring, extended installation time and unresolved issues after installation. Many reviews mentioned problems with product quality.
Window Nation has many excellent local reviews on Google. Customers said they were happy, citing the company’s patience, knowledge and responsiveness as reasons for their positive reviews. The company has more 5-star reviews than many people may realize.
Here are some sample quotes to give you a better picture of what to expect from Window Nation:
Understanding Window Nation’s installation process
Window Nation’s installation process starts with a call to schedule a price estimate. A technician will then come to your home, discuss your options and develop a plan. After installation, the crew will give you a chance to take a final walk-through to answer any questions and ensure you’re satisfied with the installation.
Window Nation vs. competitors
pro tip
- Though the chat function on Window Nation’s website initially acts like a bot by asking several questions, including your name and phone number, don’t worry. Within about a minute, a live agent jumped onto the chat. The friendly agent answered several of my questions with no delay.
We examined multiple window manufacturers and installers in compiling our company reviews. They included two similar competitors: Champion Windows and Window World. All three companies offer free quotes for the cost of window replacement services. However, some differences separate the three.
The primary difference between Window Nation and Champion Windows is that Champion manufactures the windows it installs. The benefit is that Champion will have more experience installing one brand rather than the several that Window Nation offers.
Window World and Window Nation both install products from multiple manufacturers. However, for customers who also need a garage door replacement and a slightly larger selection of window choices, Window World may be more convenient.

Methodology
After working in the construction field for three decades and running a remodeling company for much of that time, choosing a good window company was crucial for success and customer happiness. I used the same critical eye when reporting on the companies in this review. Additionally, our research team supplied much of the information necessary to develop a complete picture.
Our process included evaluating 22 competing window companies based on multiple criteria broken into six categories.
- Window types available and the number of styles and configurations of windows and products to choose from generated 36% of our rating score.
- Framing materials and options within those material choices made up 21% of the scoring.
- Quality assurance, including warranty and industry experience, accounted for 18% of the company’s rating score.
- Customer support, such as convenience when trying to reach the company for an estimate or service, among other needs, made up 12% of the total points.
- Company reputation and reviews from multiple outlets comprised 11% of the points awarded.
- Editorial judgment points, which made up 2% of the rating, were held out until after each company was reviewed. These points were awarded to companies that exceeded normal expectations in one way or another, such as offering highly efficient products or similar attributes.
