Rumpl, the brand that makes some of our favorite portable blankets, just revamped its flagship OG Puffy Blanket with a completely new version. We got our hands on one before the Rumpl blanket launch to test out its new cape clip and stuff sack, and to make sure it’s still as warm and cozy as the original. (Spoiler alert: It is).
With a new cape clip, stuff sack and PFAS-free durable water repellent, the new OG Puffy is better than ever.
The new OG Puffy blanket is available in one-person ($99) and two-person ($199) sizes, as well as 21 fun colors. And for all you obsessed with the outdoors, Rumpl’s new blankets are once again available in designs inspired by national parks like Zion, Grand Teton and more.
The new Rumpl’s outer material feels very similar to the old one and promises to be durable, thanks to its 30-denier ripstop material. Plus, the exterior is still highly water-resistant, but the DWR used is now PFAS-free. The insulation is just as toasty and warm, not to mention it’s made from 60 recycled plastic bottles (100 recycled bottles for the two-person size) just like the old version.
Where the new blanket differs is its new cape clip and stuff sack. The cape clip is lower profile and simpler to use than the previous version, plus you get two instead of one so you can clip it no matter its orientation. The stuff sack is amazingly easy to roll up and close, protecting the blanket even better from dust and dirt when it’s packed up.
If you’re in search of a cozy blanket that can go anywhere from the couch, to the tailgate, to the backcountry, look no further than Rumpl’s all-new OG Puffy. If you don’t need all the updates, check out the discounted older version that’s still available on REI (but probably not for long).
