With summer travel in full swing, airports are busier than ever and flights are fully booked. If you’re like most travelers, you’re probably bringing a personal bag with all your in-flight necessities along with you. Airplane back seat pockets aren’t always the roomiest, and if you’ve ever been victim to someone trying to stuff one, you know how it can feel on your back. Reaching under the seat in front of you for your in-flight necessities can be just as annoying — especially if you’re sitting next to a stranger.
That’s where the Airplane Pockets Tray Table Cover comes in. This handy gadget solves all those problems by making all your in-flight necessities easily accessible without disturbing others. We recently put it to the test, and here’s what we thought.
A simple product that solves the problem of staying organized while in an airplane seat. The polyester cover slips over the tray table and offers dedicated storage compartments for your travel gear as well as a clean surface when your tray table is in use.
How I found the Airplane Pockets Tray Table Cover
Whenever I have a big trip coming up, I always find myself in a deep Amazon hole searching for handy gadgets that will make my trip go smoother. That’s when the Airplane Pockets Tray Table Cover came up.
This tray table cover seemed like a great addition to my travel arsenal, as it’s lightweight, easy to pack and, of course, helps you stay organized in-flight. Helping to solve one of the bigger problems travelers face — especially on longer flights — the cover seemed like an intriguing buy. For $30, I figured it was worth a try.
Why it’s a score
Price point aside, this tray table cover makes it easy to stay organized and comfortable in-flight. Everything you want easy access to is right in front of you without taking up any leg space or disturbing others. All it requires is a quick setup once you get to your seat, but once that’s done you can sit back and relax.
The Airplane Pockets Tray Table Cover is quite simple. All in all, it’s a stretchy polyester material that slides over the tray table on the back of the seat in front of you. What you’ll get is added space and dedicated compartments for storing your in-flight travel gear as well as a cleaner surface when looking to use your tray table.
In total, there are four organizational pockets. The largest pocket is perfect for electronics like a laptop, tablet or e-reader. Directly below that are three smaller pockets that are perfect for items like your phone, headphones, snacks, a book and a water bottle. On the opposite side of the cover, you’ll get a clean surface when you’re looking to use the tray table. As one of the dirtier places on most planes, a tray table that’s guaranteed to be clean is a reason worth considering the cover in itself.
Installing the cover on the tray table couldn’t be easier, thanks to its polyester material. Better yet, it’s super lightweight at just 5.4 ounces and can be tightly folded so you can throw it into your carry-on bag or personal bag without taking up much space.
Perhaps the best part of the Airplane Pockets Tray Table Cover? It’s machine-washable. So when you get home after your flight, toss the cover in the wash so it’s ready to use for your next travel day.
I found the cover to be exceptionally useful for most travelers who are looking to boost their in-flight organization. I can see it being particularly helpful and convenient for those traveling with little ones, as it’s the perfect pocket for storing all the snacks, bottles, toys, burp cloths and more that parents may need close by.
After having tried out the tray table cover, I’d say it’s perfect for long-haul flights and those traveling with kids. At a price point that won’t break the bank and given the fact that it’s machine-washable to use over and over again, it’s a sound investment.
