Bring in the hummingbirds with style with this colorful glass hummingbird feeder. A truly unique piece, this gorgeous feeder is available in five different colors and in two sizes, each with their own look.

Hummingbird feeders, also known as sugar-water feeders, are a popular option for anyone looking to make their outdoor space a little more bird-friendly. And let’s face it, who doesn’t want a few hummingbirds hanging around? We especially like the Lujii Hummingbird Feeder because it offers excellent quality and a price point that’s easy to swallow. Plus, you won’t get any cheap plasticky feeder here — this is 100% hand-blown glass.

This is both a piece of art and a hummingbird feeder. Choose from five different hand-blown glass colors and two sizes, then add sugar water. Voila, you’re ready to start attracting hummingbirds.

How I found the Lujii hummingbird feeder

Sure, it’s simple to find a ton of plain, ordinary hummingbird feeders online. The most classic (read: boring) one is a clear feeder, with red accents on the top and bottom — and I’ve even seen plastic designs like this at the Dollar Store. But I wasn’t on the lookout for a typical feeder. I wanted something with style. Something that could hang outside on my porch and gather jealous looks as well as hummingbirds.

I did my research and a lot of clicking, but when I saw this Lujii feeder, I knew my search was over. Not only did it have a unique look, but with the offer of a high-quality, hand-blown glass body and metal feeding ports, I knew it would hold up over time.

Feeding hummingbirds is a fun and satisfying hobby. Once you see a hummingbird magically hovering in midair to eat at a sugar-water feeder, there’s a good chance you’ll be hooked. I’ve been watching and writing about these birds for many years, and when someone asks the best way to attract them, my first piece of advice is to find a good feeder.

Though hummingbirds are known to love the color red, it’s a myth that your feeder needs to be this shade to attract them. In reality, they’ll visit any old?sugar-water feeder — they aren’t picky, and it’s far more important to have good feeder maintenance. For instance, you’ll need to keep the feeder clean, especially in hot weather (all you need is a gentle scrub with a little bit of dish soap). Then, simply keep an eye out for unwanted guests. This specific Lujii feeder comes with built-in bee guards to keep the sugar water strictly for your hummingbirds, but you can always consider installing these and an ant moat?if you go for a cheaper product. Finally, and this is as easy as it is important, keep your sugar water fresh.

To make this sweet treat, just mix four parts water to one part sugar, boil, let cool and fill. No mixes needed. If you have sugar, then you have what you need to feed those hummingbirds.

If you put a feeder out and don’t see results right away, don’t give up. You might try a few different locations around your space. Or consider putting them up during migration season, when hummingbirds tend to be more active. Spring and fall are both more active times, but for exact dates, check with your local birding store or community.

Why it’s a score

What makes this feeder so special is its design. And because it does look more like a hanging piece of art than a bird feeder, I got lots and lots of compliments. Even though the glass is double-layered, you can still see through it, which means it also has a serious stained glass appeal.

Thankfully, it also has all the elements of a good hummingbird feeder. The glass and metal make it sturdy and it’s easy to take apart for filling and cleaning using the extra-wide opening. And it includes those extras in the design, like the bee guards, which as explained above are a must for keeping your feeder clean and attractive to hummingbirds.

The large design holds a whopping 36 ounces of sugar water, keeping your hummingbirds happy for quite some time. But if you have limited space, the smaller one will save you some cash.

Since buying this feeder, I’ve already bought two more and sent them as gifts. One person even reported having hummingbirds the same day they put it up. I love having mine out on my porch, between my hanging baskets. This way, the hummingbirds can stop at the flowers and then stop at the feeder as well.

Want my advice? Leave the cheap feeders at the store. After trying a bunch of different lower-cost feeders, I can attest to the fact that the Lujii feeder is a prettier and better way to go.
