A coffee mug warmer is an easy and affordable solution for anyone who may not have access to a hot pot or coffee maker at all times. And if you’re looking for a solution that won’t break the bank, the Misby Coffee Warmer is designed to keep your coffee at about 131 degrees Fahrenheit at all times and will cost you less than $25.
The Misby Coffee Warmer will keep your coffee, tea or other hot beverage at an ideal temperature until you’re ready to finish it. It safely turns off whenever you remove your mug, and its attached power cord means no worrying about battery life or charging cables.
How I found the Misby Coffee Warmer
After years of reaching for my mug and inevitably finding it lukewarm and tasteless, I decided to take matters into my own hands and started searching for an electric mug warmer online. Though there were many higher-end options, I could easily nab the well-reviewed Misby Coffee Warmer on the cheap ($25).
This 13-ounce, rectangular appliance features a 3.5-inch circular heating area that warms up under the weight of an object using microgravity induction technology. The mug’s weight needs to be over 13 ounces (0.8 pounds) to activate the gravity induction switch, and once it’s placed on the heating area, it will warm up the entire surface of your mug.
The Misby Coffee Warmer can be used for any type of cup, be it glass, stainless steel or ceramic. Though its Amazon page does recommend using a flat bottom glass cup or stainless steel cup for better heating results, I tested it with ceramic mugs.
There’s a satisfying click and a blue light that goes on when your mug is lined up in the circle correctly. When you take the mug or object off the surface, the electric mug warmer stops working, thanks to its automatic shutoff feature.
There is a cautionary image on the warmer reminding you not to touch the panel surface because it’s hot — though, the hope is that you know that already. Should you need to move your mug warmer to another part of your home, you can touch the cool sides after unplugging it.
And, of course, this mug-warming device can be used for all kinds of liquids, including tea, water with lemon, soup or milk.
Why this coffee product is a score
The beauty of this coffee mug warmer is its ease of use. Simply plug it in and stick your mug on top of the induction circle. This will automatically trip the switch to start heating, and a blue light will come on to alert you it’s warming. I did notice that it does not get already lukewarm coffee hot, so you’re better off getting your coffee hot and leaving it on the mug warmer to keep it at your perfect temperature.
One thing I did appreciate was the Misby’s electric cord, which means it’s one fewer USB cord to deal with and no worries about battery life. In addition to keeping this electric mug warmer by my desk while I worked, I ended up moving it to my kitchen counter to keep my coffee warm on lazy weekend mornings. I could also see using it next to my bed if I was feeling especially lazy.
Or you can buy one for the office and one for home and gift one to your fellow java-loving friend. For less than $25, it’s cheap enough to share the coffee-warming wealth.
