'Authorities in Arizona are looking for a man accused of threatening to kill former President Donald Trump. That's according to the Cochise County Sheriff's Office. They say 66 year-old Ronald Lee Syvrud threatened Trump on social media posts over the past couple of weeks. It has several outstanding warrants stemming from DUI charges, felony hit and run and failing to register as a sex offender. Trump visited the US southern border in Arizona earlier today to slam the Biden administration on border security. A source familiar with the matter told CNN. Law enforcement briefed his team about the search. Trump survived an assassination attempt at his Pennsylvania rally in July, where a 20 year old gunman killed a person and injured two others.

'Vice President Kamala Harris is closing out the Democratic National Convention tonight with her acceptance speech. She's the first black woman and first Asian-American to lead a major political party ticket. CNN's David Rind is in Chicago.

If I'm the voice you hear right before Kamala Harris takes the stage tonight. Maybe Sylvia via grants, but it might not.

'She has been the so-called the "Voice of God" for this convention, introducing key speakers. Now, Villagran wouldn't reveal if it will be her job to welcome Harris to the stage or of someone else in the arena will do it. But she says the history of Harris's nomination is not lost on her.

Today, the Supreme Court declined to revive parts of a controversial Arizona law that could have barred thousands of voters from casting a ballot in the November presidential contest or voting by mail. But the court kept a piece of the Republican led law that will make it harder for voters to register for state and local elections. Arizona is a critically important battleground in this year's presidential election. President Joe Biden carried the state by just over 10,000 votes in 2020. Former President Donald Trump won it in 2016. The case is likely to be the first of many election related disputes the Supreme Court will be asked to tackle on an emergency basis this year.

'A summer wave of Covid-19 continues to hit the United States, but the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has signed off on updated Covid 19 vaccines. Both Moderna and Pfizer BioNTech have said updated shots will be available in pharmacies and clinics in the days ahead. The FDA added that people five and older are eligible for an updated vaccine, as long as it's been at least two months since their last dose. Levels of the virus that causes Covid-19 are, quote, "very high" in wastewater nationally right now, according to CDC data. It's the highest summer peak in the U.S. since July 2022.

Communities in and around the city of Port Cross in eastern Ukraine are being urged to evacuate as Russian forces push forward. Ukraine's rail network said at least 371 people evacuated the city today, a record number since the beginning of this year. CNN's Salma Abdelaziz has more.

Ukrainian officials have given residents their only two weeks to evacuate their homes. Already people are leaving daily. This advance comes, of course, as Ukraine continues its own push into Russian territory.
