Under my plan, more than 100 million Americans will get a middle class tax break that includes $6,000 for new parents during the first year of their child's life. We'll also cut the cost of childcare and elder care.
Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump campaigned in North Carolina today. He criticized the way Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelensky, is handling the war in Ukraine and said he threatened to blow Iran to, quote, smithereens if they harm a, quote, leading candidate in a U.S. presidential election. And although the polling, Biden's polling was different, the fact of the matter is my polling was about where, you know, we were always within range of beating this guy.
The Israeli military army chief says the country's forces are preparing for a possible ground incursion into Lebanon. This comes after Israel's conflict with Iran backed militant group Hezbollah intensified for a third straight day. Israeli forces shot down a missile Hezbollah said it aimed at Israel's intelligence agency near Tel Aviv, marking the first time the group tried to strike so deeply into Israeli territory. The Israeli military says it has struck 2000 targets in Lebanon, including 70 Hezbollah intelligence sites. The U.N. warns thousands of Syrians and Lebanese people fleeing to Syria to escape the bombing have no concrete plan after they cross.
Hurricane Helene is plowing toward a Florida landfall as the strongest hurricane to hit the U.S. in over a year. The storm is forecast to grow into one of the largest in the Gulf of Mexico over the last century, according to one hurricane expert, which means more storm surge and widespread impacts even with the center of the storm well away from the coast. CNN's Chad Myers has the latest.

Helene, right now, 85mph, but the forecast is for this to get to be a Category Four hurricane as it makes landfall across the big bend of Florida. This will be a big storm not only for that area, but farther inland where winds will gust over 100mph. Far inland from the coast, we're talking Tallahassee, Valdosta, possibly all the way up even toward Macon, Georgia with winds like that and some spots, Ifeoma, will pick up one foot of rainfall, causing flash flooding.
'After moving up its vote schedule, the House of Representatives has passed a government funding extension to avert a shutdown at the end of this month. Speaker Mike Johnson had to turn to Democrats again to get the bill over the finish line as he faces GOP defections. The Senate is expected to vote on the bill later this evening. The bill will fund the government and so December 20th, setting up a high stakes fight over spending right before the Christmas holiday. It also includes $231 million for the U.S. Secret Service to help the agency protect the 2024 presidential candidates in the wake of two apparent assassination attempts against Trump. The bill does not include the Save Act, a controversial measure targeting non-citizen voting that Trump had pushed for Republicans to include. Coming up, a conspiracy theory empire is going up for auction.
Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones's Infowars empire is being sold for parts to help pay the families of the Sandy Hook mass shooting victims. Everything owned by parent company Free Speech System will be for sale to the highest bidder starting November 13th, from the infowars.com domain to its social media accounts, subscriber lists and production equipment. Jones was ordered to pay the Sandy Hook families nearly $1.5 billion for pushing false conspiracy theories about the 2012 massacre. He went into personal bankruptcy after he was ordered to pay the sum and his company was placed under the control of a court appointed trustee who's now arranging the sale. Anyone can place a bid on Infowars and use the property for any reason.
That's a wrap. Join us again at 6 a.m. Eastern.
